The HP 6QN35-67002 Generic Service Formatter provides the central processing, firmware, connectivity, and device-control functions required by compatible HP Color LaserJet Enterprise MFPs.

The printer’s central command system.

The formatter is the printer’s primary logic board. It processes print jobs, runs the device firmware, manages network and USB communication, stores configuration information, and communicates with the scanner-control board, control panel, print engine, and optional accessories.

“Generic Service Formatter” is HP’s designation for a service-replacement board that can be configured for multiple compatible printer models. It does not mean that the board is a generic aftermarket component.

Formatter replacement requires electrostatic-discharge precautions and may require firmware installation, model configuration, serial-number entry, regional setup, and other HP service procedures.

1. Turn the printer off and disconnect its power cable.
2. Use proper ESD grounding before handling either board.
3. Document all cable and removable-component locations.
4. Install only the appropriate compatible storage and security components.
5. Seat every connector completely before applying power.
6. Install or update the correct HP firmware when required.
7. Complete the required service configuration and verify all printer functions.

Important part-number distinction

Do not order this formatter for HP 6700, 6701, or X654-series printers. Standard worldwide 67xx and X65xxx models use formatter 6QN32-67002.

China and India versions of the HP 6800, 6801, and X677 platforms use formatter 6QN35-67005 instead of 6QN35-67002.
