It is the document-scanning assembly used to capture your originals—not the internal laser scanner that creates printed images within the print engine.

Printing duplex is not scanning duplex. The 3301sdw supports automatic two-sided printing, but its ADF does not automatically scan both sides of an original. This product is not offered as a duplex-scanning conversion kit for that model.

Scanning specifications describe the supported printer platform with the correct assembly installed. Actual operation depends on the printer configuration, selected settings, document type, and proper installation.

Confirm that the ADF and flatbed scanner assembly is the component requiring replacement before ordering. A scanning error alone does not establish that the complete assembly has failed.
Professional installation is recommended. Power off and disconnect the printer before servicing, handle scanner glass and cable connectors carefully, and follow the service procedure for your exact model. After installation, verify both flatbed and ADF operation, including two-sided scanning where supported.
