The RM2-0062 Paper Pickup Roller Assembly is responsible for lifting and advancing media from the paper cassette into the printer's internal paper path.

As the roller surface wears, hardens, or becomes contaminated, printers may begin displaying intermittent misfeeds, delayed pickup, repeated paper jams, or situations where the printer attempts to feed paper but the sheet remains inside the cassette.

On the M552, M553, M554, M555, M557, M577, M578, E55040, E55740 and E57540 generation, this pickup roller design is used within the Tray 2-X paper-feeding system and can be encountered in Trays 2, 3, 4 or 5, depending on the printer's installed paper-feeder configuration.

On the later M652, M653, M681, M682 and related E650xx / E651xx / E675xx / E676xx models, this component is generally specified for Tray 2. Do not assume that the optional lower feeders on those models use the same roller solely because the printer itself is compatible with RM2-0062.
