The HP RM1-6165 Paper Delivery Assembly is located near the upper paper-exit path of the printer and is responsible for properly transporting printed sheets from the fusing area into the output bin.

A worn, damaged, jammed, or mechanically failed delivery assembly may cause paper to stall near the output area, fail to fully exit the printer, produce recurring paper jams, or prevent the delivery rollers from rotating correctly.

Some service-parts catalogs also cross-reference RM1-8830 / RM1-8830-000CN as a related replacement or superseding service number. Always compare the installed assembly and connector configuration when working from an alternate number.

Similar-looking printers do not necessarily use RM1-6165.

Several newer or closely related HP Color LaserJet models use completely different paper-delivery assemblies. Do not purchase RM1-6165 solely because the printer appears physically similar.

Especially important: The HP M775 family shares several components and general design characteristics with the CP5525/M750 platform, but its paper delivery assembly is different. RM1-6165 should not be ordered for an M775 solely on the basis of physical similarity.

What does the paper delivery assembly do?

Common symptoms of a failing delivery assembly

• Paper repeatedly jams near the upper output area.
• Printed pages stop immediately after passing through the fuser.
• Paper partially exits the printer but does not fully reach the output bin.
• Delivery rollers fail to rotate normally.
• Grinding, clicking, slipping, or abnormal mechanical noise near the paper exit.
• Visible damage to gears, rollers, guides, or other components within the delivery assembly.

These symptoms can also be caused by other paper-path components. Proper diagnosis is recommended before replacing parts.
