A replacement for a critical point in the paper path, helping position and time each sheet before image transfer. Also used in the documented Canon LBP710Cx, LBP712Cx, and LBP712Cdn configurations below.
A small assembly. A precise role.
The registration assembly controls the sheet as it approaches the transfer area. Its rollers and associated paper-detection components help the printer coordinate paper position with the image being printed. When a fault is traced to this assembly, replacing it can restore correct paper movement through this section of the engine.
Address the source of the fault.
A damaged or worn registration assembly can contribute to skewed feeding, incorrect image positioning, or recurring jams in the registration area. Replacement is appropriate when inspection and diagnostics identify this assembly as the cause.
Service the paper path.
This is the engine registration assembly. It is separate from the document feeder, fuser, transfer belt, and tray pickup assemblies. On the listed M577, M578, and E57540 devices, both standard and Flow configurations are covered.
M553dn, M553x, and M553dh use the duplex-platform registration assembly covered by this listing. M553n (B5L24A) uses RM2-0093-000CN instead. Installing RM2-0018 does not convert a simplex printer into a duplex model.
