The HP D9P29A adds an additional 550-sheet input source to compatible HP LaserJet printers and multifunction devices. When combined with the printer’s standard input trays, total available capacity can reach up to approximately 900 sheets on supported configurations.
The additional feeder is ideal for offices and workgroups that print frequently, use multiple paper sizes, or want to keep a second media type loaded and ready without repeatedly changing the main tray.

Installation Overview
- Turn off the printer and disconnect the power cord.
- Place the feeder on a flat, stable and level surface.
- Carefully position the printer directly over the feeder and align the connection points.
- Lower the printer into position without forcing the connection.
- Reconnect power and turn on the printer.
- Confirm that Tray 3 appears in the printer settings and print driver.
Use appropriate lifting assistance, particularly when installing the feeder beneath a multifunction printer.
