The B3Q10-40034 Contact Image Sensor travels beneath the scanner glass and captures the document image one line at a time. It may be used to repair compatible machines experiencing scanner-head failure when the existing glass, housing and drive components remain serviceable.

Designed to replace the moving flatbed CIS scanner head responsible for illuminating and capturing documents placed on the scanner glass.
Keep the original enclosure.
This component installs inside the machine’s existing scanner enclosure. The original housing, glass, belt, motor, cabling and surrounding hardware must be retained unless included separately.
Verify before disassembly.
Compare the original part marking, connector arrangement and physical configuration with the listing photographs before ordering. Similar printer families may use a different complete scanner assembly.
Service-level installation.
Scanner disassembly requires careful handling of the sensor, flexible cables, drive belt and calibration surfaces. Professional installation is recommended.

Installation considerations
- Turn off the printer and disconnect its power cord before beginning service.

- Transfer the scanner head into the original housing without twisting the flexible cable or disturbing the drive belt.
- After reassembly, test flatbed scanning and copying across the complete width of the scanner glass.
