Please note: While it may seem like common sense to replace the LCD panel due to no video being displayed, the HP M281 and M283 series printers are known for having highly failure-prone formatter boards, which often need to be replaced in order to restore functionality to the display.

If you were simply using the device and the display suddenly stopped illuminating altogether, then the formatter is statistically the more likely failure point, which we also sell.

However, if the display is dim, discolored, cracked, bleeding, or physically damaged, then replacing the LCD panel is typically the correct course of action.

Please also note that misdiagnosing the device and later requesting to return the LCD assembly may result in a 25% restocking fee in addition to the original and return shipping costs.
